WASHINGTON — A House special committee investigation into the Jan. 6 inquiry will release a sweeping report Monday that Republicans say features a key witness. Cassidy Hutchinson’s dramatic score the actions of former President Donald Trump it was not confirmed by four other White House staffers that day.

“None of the White House staff confirmed Hutchinson’s sensational story. President Trump is at the helm of Hell. However, some witnesses described the President’s mood after the speech at the Ellipse,” R-Ga., a section previously obtained by NBC News. The House Administration Committee’s oversight subcommittee, chaired by Rep. Barry Loudermilk, said in a report. about the release.

Hutchinson testified personally and publicly under oath at the Jan. 6 panel that he heard Trump get behind the wheel of the presidential SUV and get into a physical altercation with a top Secret Service agent after the president was tipped off. After speaking at a rally on the Ellipse on Jan. 6, don’t go to the Capitol to join supporters.

While a new GOP report says one White House staffer described Trump’s mood after his speech as “angry,” Republicans argue that “it’s highly unlikely that other White House staffers heard about the president’s mood after his SUV speech.” Ellipse, but I haven’t heard the sensational story that Hutchinson claims [Tony] Ornato He said after returning to the White House on January 6.

After reclaiming the majority last year, House Republicans are eager to reverse the Jan. 6 committee investigation and findings as Trump seeks to reclaim the White House in November. One of the GOP’s top priorities has been to discredit Hutchison, who served as senior aide to then-White House chief of staff Mark Meadows in the final days of the Trump administration.

He was the star witness for a select House panel investigating Trump’s efforts to nullify the 2020 election and prevent Congress from ratifying the results on Jan. 6, 2021 — which the bipartisan panel said led to the deadly attack on the Capitol. Not only does Trump face a possible rematch with President Joe Biden this year; he is also face to face Federal criminal charges for his role on Jan. 6.

Hutchinson also wrote about it events in the book. Reached for comment Monday, Hutchinson’s attorney, William H. Jordan, referred NBC News to Loudermilk’s January letter and said his client was correct.

“Let me be clear: because Mrs Hutchinson has changed her advice, she has told the truth and will continue to tell it. Other people – often men in higher positions – will not talk to the Select Committee, Mrs Hutchinson and many other witnesses. She has bravely stepped forward. But she now is questioning itself regarding your and your Subcommittee testimony and matters that may be the subject of ongoing criminal proceedings against Mr. Trump,” Jordan wrote to Loudermilk.

“Ms. Hutchinson will not succumb to a campaign of pressure from those who want to silence her and influence her testimony, even if it is carried out under the guise of ‘surveillance,'” he continued.

Members of the Jan. 6 committee — then-Chairman Bennie Thompson, D-Miss. and then-Vice Speaker Liz Cheney, R-Wyo. — argued that Trump’s attempt to overturn the results of the 2020 election and stay in power is one of his a threat to democracy and the peaceful transfer of power. But Loudermilk and other Republican allies argued that the Jan. 6 panel, set up by then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi, played up Hutchinson’s damaging testimony against Trump and minimized or ignored the testimony of other witnesses who disagreed with his account.

According to transcripts of the Jan. 6 committee interviews newly obtained by House Republicans, an unidentified witness known as “White House Staff Three” testified that Trump’s then-deputy chief of staff, Ornato, said on the way back that Trump was “angry.” to the White House that day. But Loudermilk’s report said the three staffers “never testified that President Trump groped, groped or engaged in any aggressive acts as alleged by Hutchinson.”

Hutchinson also testified at the Jan. 6 panel that Meadows told him he believed Trump’s Vice President Mike Pence “deserves” to be hanged, prompting the president to chant on television that the crowd should “hang Mike Pence!” follows its motto. Employee Three, who was with Trump that day, said he did not hear Trump say anything about the slogans.

The transcripts of these witnesses, some of which have been redacted at the request of the White House, will be released to the public.

“The content of these witness transcripts explains why the Select Committee chose not to release these transcripts, even though it released almost all other witness transcripts,” Loudermilk’s report said. “These witnesses directly undermine the allegations made by Hutchinson and the Select Committee and emphasize that the Select Committee is showing the public only what they want to see.”

In the new report, Republicans also highlight corrections Hutchinson made to his testimony during various interactions with the Jan. 6 committee.

During his first transcribed interview in February 2022, Hutchinson said he did not know if anyone had told Trump that the people in the Ellipse crowd had guns. He later revised this statement in September 2022 Trump was briefed on the weapons.

Administration committee Republicans also criticized Hutchinson for not testifying in initial interviews about Trump’s Jan. 6 driving incident.

“The Select Committee rushed into another Hollywood hearing, knowing that Hutchinson’s testimony had changed significantly over time and became more dramatic, but they could not confirm the story,” the report said.

Hutchinson’s attorney said he went into great detail to explain why he clarified his statement. She was initially represented by a Trump-funded lawyer who said she was pressured to be “loyal” to the “boss” and that Trump received regular reports about her testimony. His subsequent testimony, which contained more details about Trump, came after he hired new lawyers.
