Two people were accused of murder in Baku Shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade last week resulted in the death of one woman and the injury of more than 20 people.
The charges were announced against the men at a press conference Tuesday afternoon.
Earlier, A criminal case has been opened against two minors Baker, Mo., did not say whether the juveniles were related to the adults charged in the Feb. 14 shooting in downtown Kansas City.
Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker said both men were charged with second-degree murder and unlawful use of a weapon.
The accused adults, who were injured and hospitalized in the shooting, are being held on $1 million bond.
The prosecutor said preliminary evidence suggests the fatal shooting began after one of them got into a verbal argument with an unrelated person.
“This controversy escalated very quickly,” Baker said. “Almost immediately the others drew their firearms.”
The men had no previous relationship.
Lisa Lopez-Galvan, a mother of two and a local radio DJ, was killed and 22 others, ranging in age from 8 to 47, were injured after a parade and rally to celebrate the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory.
Baker said the shooting is under investigation and more charges could be filed against others.
“We are trying to hold every shooter accountable for what they did that day. Each,” Baker said. “So we’re not on every individual yet, but we’ll get there.”
Baker is asking anyone with information about the shooting to come forward, especially those who were injured in the incident.
