The FBI said Friday that one bullet struck Donald Trumpin the ear during an assassination attempt on the former president at a campaign rally this month after the bureau’s director suggested to Congress it could be shrapnel.
“The bullet that struck former President Trump’s ear was either whole or fragmented from the decedent’s rifle,” the FBI said.
The statement came two days after FBI Director Christopher Wray Trump nominated “As you know, there is some question as to whether it was a bullet or shrapnel that hit his ear,” he told House of Representatives lawmakers in 2017.
These words of the director caused a wide echo among Republican deputies as well as Trump.
