presided over by Fulton County District Attorney Fannie Willis racketeering and election interference case hearings against former President Donald Trump and others are set for February 15 allegations of wrongdoing v. District Attorney.
In a filing this month, Michael Roman, a co-defendant in the Trump case, alleged that Willis had a “romantic relationship” with special counsel Nathan Wade.
Roman argues that the couple and the DA’s office should be disbarred from prosecuting the case and that criminal charges should be dismissed “because of the inappropriate, secret personal relationship between the district attorney and the special prosecutor during the pendency of this case. it resulted in the special prosecutor and, in turn, the district attorney getting a lot of profit from this prosecution at the expense of taxpayers.”
A spokeswoman for the DA’s office said they would respond to the allegations in court this month and declined to comment further.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee gave the DA’s office until Feb. 2 to respond to the motion in an order setting a hearing Thursday.
