JD Vance, Tim Walz agree to vice presidential debate invitation from CBS News

Sen. JD Vance On Thursday, he said he had accepted an invitation from CBS News to a vice presidential debate against the governor of Minnesota. Tim WaltzVice President Kamala Harris’ running mate on October 1.

Reached for comment, a CNN spokeswoman said the network had invited both vice presidential candidates to the fall debate, and that Vance had acknowledged accepting CNN’s invitation.

“We are always reaching out to campaigns around opportunities for the American public to hear from the leading candidates for president and vice president of the United States, and we look forward to this program in the fall,” a CNN spokesperson said in a statement.

Trump said last week that the campaign He accepted the invitation of CBS News to the vice presidential debate, and his running mate, Vance, “really stepped up. He’s doing a fantastic job.” He did not specify the date of the discussions at that time.
