In an interview on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” to air Monday, Vice President Kamala Harris said abortion bans in states across the country are depriving women of basic reproductive care and causing a “health crisis.”
“There are clinics in the community that are trusted – you can get a Pap [smear] … breast cancer screening, HIV screening, things that people want to walk into a health care facility and be treated with dignity and non-judgment so that they can address their health concerns,” Harris told host Micah. “This is what these clinics do. In the states where Trump passed these abortion bans, these clinics are closing, which means that there’s a reduction in very important health care for a lot of people,” Harris said.

In addition to ensuring access to health care for women across the country, Harris framed the issue around freedom.
