A local appeals court in Washington has suspended Hunter Biden’s law license because of it conviction on gun charges This month in federal court in Delaware.
Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit he said in abrehsays It said the suspension was effective “immediately” on Tuesday. The court also ordered the lawyer’s disciplinary arm, the Board of Professional Responsibility, to “initiate formal disciplinary proceedings.”
In a letter to Biden, the board warned that it could recommend that he be fired if it finds that “the crime for which you were convicted involved moral turpitude” — generally meaning a serious crime.
A jury in Wilmington, Delaware, found Biden, the president’s son, guilty on June 11. counts as three felonies it was related to possession of a weapon while using drugs. Nope judgment date is assigned. Biden has pleaded not guilty in the case, and his attorney, Abbe Lowell, filed court documents Monday arguing that Biden should be given a new trial or acquitted entirely.
The DC board gave Biden until August 2 to respond to the disciplinary proceedings.
It’s unclear what impact the suspension might have on Biden’s livelihood. He has been working mainly as an artist since 2020.
A representative for Biden did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Biden also meets federal tax payments in California. He has pleaded not guilty and will be arraigned in early September.
