WASHINGTON – The US Capitol Police On Friday, officials arrested a man who they said tried to enter the building with a hammer, he said.
The hammer was discovered Friday when 33-year-old Christopher Snow was going through security at the Capitol Visitor Center, Capitol Police said.

According to the USCP, an officer discovered the hammer inside the man’s backpack while going through an X-ray machine, but when the officer tried to look inside the bag, the man “tried to grab the bag and became combative.” press release.
During the “struggle,” officers “deployed a Taser to subdue the individual and take him into custody,” according to the press release.
According to the USCP, Snow, of Canton, Ohio, is charged with assaulting a police officer.
