Poll finds both Israel and Palestinian Authority viewed less favorably by Americans
Americans’ views of both Israel and the Palestinian Authority have worsened over the past year, according to a Gallup poll released today.
Only 58% of Americans have a favorable view of Israel, down 10% from last year. This is the lowest rating for a US ally in more than 20 years.
Favorable views of the Palestinian Authority in the survey also fell by 8% to 18%, the lowest rating in nine years.
The biggest drop in Israel’s favorable ratings was among 18-34 year olds, falling from 64% in 2023 to 38%.
Americans continue to lean toward Israel, with 51% saying they sympathize more with the Israelis and 27% with the Palestinians. However, this difference has decreased in recent years.
