Donald Trump’s campaign expects Vice President Kamala Harris to get a “repeat” from the Democratic National Convention, but generally doesn’t see the week-long event changing the overall trajectory of the race.

But Trump advisers continue to believe this will be a “sugar high” for Harris, who is officially the Democratic nominee as the race enters the final two months.
“They didn’t knock it out of the park. It was good,” the Trump adviser said. “We had a good week. I’m happy with where things are and where they’re going.”
“I’m still waiting for a blow” for Democrats, he continued.
Another source close to the Trump campaign explained on Wednesday speeches while it was hailed as “impressive” by former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama, they said they didn’t believe it was something voters would remember.
A bigger takeaway from Trump’s team, he said, was the program’s reliance on celebrities like Oprah Winfrey and Mindy Kaling and how the speaking schedule was “poorly managed.”
They specifically pointed to Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walsh stage late the third night of the convention.
“I couldn’t believe Walsh left at 11:15 a.m. ET,” the person said.
Trump’s speech at the Republican National Convention last month continued record 93 minutes. He sent the last night of this congress until the morning.

He then placed If he does return to the White House, his message that it would be “great for women and their reproductive rights” contrasts with his previous position and the position of many anti-abortion Republicans. He didn’t explain why that would be “awesome.”
Trump also brought up the issue of Harris shutting him down.Project 2025,” a broad conservative plan backed by more than 100 conservative groups. The former president has tried to distance himself from the right-wing administration plan, as Democrats continue to point out that it was put together by several of Trump’s key allies.

After Biden decided not to seek re-election in late July — a move that followed a tough debate performance and questions about his mental acuity — Harris performed better In most public polls, including those held in key states.

Harris’ late entry as the Democratic nominee flipped the script for Trump, providing a much shorter time frame than is normal for a campaign. That means any vote boost he would get from entering the race, picking a running mate and then hosting a convention would be harder for the Trump campaign to fight for because of the more limited time frame.
“The convention was good for them, and to some extent we expected that,” said a Trump supporter familiar with the campaign’s thinking. “But things will get better. It wasn’t a game changer.”
