MILWAUKEE — Former President Donald Trump is expected to attend He reveals his choice as a running mate on Monday Republican National Convention opens here.
Fox News’ Bret Baier reported Monday morning that Trump confirmed those plans to him in a phone interview.
“Yes, we’re going to get the VP today,” Baier said. “And he said there are other things ahead. I don’t know what that means.”
A Trump campaign official declined an interview when asked for comment.
Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, has focused on three finalists: Sen. JD Vance of Ohio, Sen. Marco Rubio of Florida and Gov. Doug Burgum of North Dakota. But the search process is closely guarded by the former president and top advisers, everything from the timing to the persona he chooses, mostly Trump himself.

In the days leading up to the Pennsylvania rally, Trump conducted a series of final checks with the finalists, three sources familiar with the discussions told NBC News.
Vance and Rubio met with Trump in person at the Mar-a-Lago resort, a source familiar with the meetings said. Burgum had a phone conversation with Trump, two sources familiar with the conversation said. It was ABC News reports first about meetings.
