US President-elect Donald Trump announced on Saturday that he will nominate Charles Kushner, who deals in real estate and is the father of his son-in-law Jared Kushner, for the post of ambassador to France.
“He is a tremendous business leader, philanthropist and dealmaker who will be a strong advocate for our country and its interests,” Trump said on Truth Social about his intention to nominate Kushner for ambassadorship.
“Congratulations to Charlie, his beautiful wife Ceryl, their 4 children and 14 grandchildren,” Trump added in his post.
In the post, the president-elect mentioned his son-in-law Jared Kushner, who is married to Ivanka Trump, and highlighted the work done by Jared Kushner in his first administration.
“[Charles’] son Jared worked closely with me in the White House, particularly on Operation Warp Speed, Criminal Justice Reform, and the Abraham Accords. Together, we will strengthen America’s partnership with France, one of our oldest allies and one of our greatest allies.” the president-elect wrote on Saturday.

Kushner was later prosecuted by then-U.S. Attorney Chris Christie, the governor of New Jersey and Trump’s arch-enemy. Christie ran against Trump in the 2016 and 2024 Republican primaries.
