An Arizona man has been arrested for allegedly posting videos online showing him brandishing an AR-15 rifle and threatening to kill President-elect Donald Trump and members of his family.
Manuel Tamayo-Torres posted “almost daily” videos in which he accused Trump and members of the president-elect’s family of child abduction and sex trafficking, according to charging documents filed in federal court in Arizona. One video was taken at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on Aug. 23, the site of a Trump rally, the documents said.
The documents do not name Trump, but they describe “Individual 1” as a former president and a current president.
In a video posted on Facebook on Nov. 13, Tamayo-Torres holds a white AR-15-style rifle with a 30-round magazine, posing a menacing but elusive threat, according to the court. documents.
“You see [Individual l]from this distance [Individual l]… As soon as I hear that barrel is gone, I’m already running after you [Individual 1],” he said, according to court documents. “And all these little boys and their little badges, outside the book, [Individual 1]. “They can’t run very fast with a bunch of equipment, firearms, ARs, 50 calibers.”
Tamayo-Torres released a video on Nov. 21 saying Trump’s “whole family was going to die,” according to the indictment.
“You are Caucasian, you are nothing,” he added in the video. “You won’t win anything. Aryan money, that’s all you’ve got. You’re a low-life scumbag. I’ll spit in your mother’s face and if they pay me. luck, I’ll bury you myself.”
Tamayo-Torres was arrested Monday in Southern California. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
He was charged with making threats against the president-elect and perjury while purchasing four firearms.
Tamayo-Torres was convicted of a felony in 2003 and sentenced to five years in a California state prison. Court documents say he was granted a protection order by his ex-wife last year.
