Pete Hegseth, president-elect Donald Trump was elected to the post of defense minister and a former Fox News host were investigated for alleged “sexual assault” at a hotel that hosted a 2017 California Republican women’s gathering, police said Friday.

Hegseth has not been charged with a crime, and Monterey police have not released any information about the alleged victim, who reported the incident on Oct. 12 of that year, in a statement citing a police report.

Hexeth, 44, is a combat veteran and captain in the Army National Guard. He served overseas in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

He joined Fox News in 2014 and co-hosted Fox & Friends Weekend in 2017.
