vice president Kamala Harris will appear on “Saturday Night Live” this weekend, according to three people familiar with the planning.
Harris’ cameo in the long-running variety series, played by actor Maya Rudolph, will bring him to New York, far from the battlefield he visited in the latter part of the campaign. On Saturday, Harris held a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Presidential candidates from both major parties have appeared on “SNL” in recent years.
Trump He hosted the show in November 2015led to hundreds of protesters demonstrating against his comments about undocumented immigrants. A month ago, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton he made a cameo appearance in the show and imitated Trump.
Barack Obama too made a cameo In 2007, when he was running for the Democratic presidential nomination. The following year, then-Gov. Sarah Palin appeared on the show a few weeks before the election as the vice presidential candidate of the Republican Party.
Ahead of Saturday night’s show, Harris is holding rallies in Atlanta and Charlotte, North Carolina. On Sunday, it’s back on the trail with stops in Michigan, including Detroit.
