Harris to make closing argument speech at site of Trump’s Jan. 6 remarks

Trump spoke to supporters here as he protested the results of the January 6, 2021 election, which he falsely claimed was “rigged” against him. During his address, he said he would go to the Capitol with them to pressure Congress and his vice president not to approve the results.

“We’re here to demand that Congress do the right thing and count only legally designated voters,” Trump said he told the crowdrepeatedly calls him to “fight”.

The Ellipse is between the South Lawn of the White House and the National Mall.
