Former President Donald Trump said he does not believe he will run again in four years if he loses the November election.
“No, I think it will, it will. I don’t see it at all,” Trump said told the interviewer Sharyl Attkisson when asked on Full Measure if she sees herself running again in four years if her bid for president fails.
“I think, hopefully, we’ll be successful,” Trump added in an interview aired Sunday.
The Trump campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The former president was also asked whether he would appoint former Hawaii representative Tulsi Gabbard, tech billionaire Elon Musk or former independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy to Cabinet positions if he wins a second term. Trump did not exclude this possibility.
Trump suggested who Kennedy was has been suspended his candidacy for the presidency and confirmed The former president would be “big on health and the environment” last month. Pressed on whether that led to Health and Human Services, Trump replied, “It doesn’t mean anything,” and said he disagrees with no one when it comes to potential Cabinet appointments.
“It’s still early, but there will be time, won’t it?” he said.
The former president said Gabbard, who ran for the 2020 Democratic presidential primary but has since left the party to support the former president, “is always good for common sense.”
“He is like an ordinary person. I have been watching him on shows for a long time. “I know him a little and I was very honored to receive him,” he said. “He was, you’re right, a Democrat, and he was popular in Hawaii. And it’s going to be, it’s going to be great.”
Trump noted that Musk had “very strongly” backed him, and when Attkisson suggested the possibility, he agreed that the tech billionaire could help with “government waste.”
“He feels this is the most important election we’ve ever had. And as you know, he probably has a few other things going on. But he shows that he can be ready for it,” said Trump.
“That’s what we’re talking about more than anything else,” he said. “It’s a great cost-saver. He’s always been very good at it, and so am I.”
After Musk announced his endorsement of Trump in July, Trump told former Navy SEAL Sean Ryan in an interview in August that not possible‘I don’t wait The tech billionaire will serve in his cabinet if he wins, as Musk has commitments as the head of various companies, but suggested he could “consult the country and give you very good ideas.”
Earlier this month, Trump he said he will accept Musk’s plan for a government efficiency commission to cut federal spending, adding that Musk has agreed to lead the commission “if he has time.”
