Former President Barack Obama and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are expected to hold separate fundraisers for Vice President Kamala Harris next Friday in Los Angeles, according to three people familiar with their plans.
Clinton’s dinner event, Obama’s at night.
Both Obama and Clinton held fundraisers for Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden earlier this year. But it will be Clinton’s first high-level meeting with donors since the convention and the first campaign event for Harris aside from Obama’s speech in Chicago last month.
Obama and Clinton both plan to campaign for Harris in the run-up to the election, but dates for additional appearances are still being finalized, these people said.
The Harris-Walz political operation raised $361 million in August, extending its big money lead over former President Donald Trump’s campaign.
