Kamala Harris ” will appear in the ninth finale of the seasonRuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars” is in favor of voting.
This Friday’s episode on Paramount+ will kick off with a special speech from the vice president.
“Every day we see our rights and freedoms being attacked, including everyone’s right to be who they are, to love who they love openly and proudly,” he said. “So as we fight back against these attacks, let’s remember that no one is alone. We are all in this together and your voice is your power. So please make sure your voice is heard this November and register to vote.”
It was filmed a few weeks ago Harris announced his candidacy for the presidencyHarris joined judge Michelle Visage, Emmy-nominated choreographer Jamal Sims, Lance Bass, Leslie Jones and Cheyenne Jackson in encouraging Americans to register to vote.
He has been a long-time advocate for human and civil rights and a campaigner for marriage equality. Last month, Harris co-hosted a Pride month reception with the Human Rights Campaign Foundation. Drag Race season 16 winner Nymhpia Wind, All Stars queens Vanessa Vanjie Mateo and Plastique Tiara and Billy Porter were among the guests. On Wednesday night, the Human Rights Campaign endorsed Harris’ bid at the White House. They said, “In the Senate and as vice president, Kamala Harris championed the Equality Act, which provides comprehensive anti-discrimination protections for the LGBTQ+ community, and the Respect for Marriage Act, which provides federal marriage protections.”
This is not the first time the politician has appeared on the show. Back in 2020, Congresswoman Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez appeared on the judging panel, and in 2022, Speaker Nancy Pelosi appeared on Season 7 of All Stars, encouraging Americans to vote.
Drag Race has also been advocating for voting rights for a long time. Each week, the queens and showrunner RuPaul end the show by reminding viewers to register to vote.
The second part of the grand finale is expected to be a “Variety Extravaganza” like everyone else eight queens return, the winning queen will win $200,000 to be donated to a charity of their choice. All three Benefactor badges are up for grabs, and a new vote could change everything.
Last week, RuPaul reminded the queens that the three queens with the most engagements will compete for the crown. But he quickly added that any of the queens could snag the crown and be inducted into the Drag Race Hall of Fame. From Part 1 of the grand final, Roxxxy Andrews had five charity badges, Jorgeous and Plastique Tiara tied for four, with the former narrowly edging out by winning the lip sync and maxi challenge.
