“Melania” will be published by Skyhorse Publishing, which publishes Donald Trump supporters such as former New York City Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and attorney Alan Dershowitz. Skyhorse also worked with third-party candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and former Trump insider Michael Cohen, who later became one of his fiercest critics. Some Skyhorse books have forewords written by Trump ally Steve Bannon.
Melania Trump’s memoir was released by her office on Thursday, with no specific release date or if it will come out sooner. Election day in November. Trump has been the subject of other books, including by former adviser Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, but he has never before told his story at length.
The former first lady “invites readers into her world by presenting an intimate portrait of a woman who led an extraordinary life,” the ad reads in part. “‘Melania’ has personal stories and family photos that she has never shared publicly.”
A spokeswoman said she had no information beyond what was included in the publication, with no reference to financial terms, promotional plans or co-authorship.
Melania Trump, Donald Trump’s third wife, has been an enigmatic figure since her husband announced his candidacy for the 2016 election. Even while serving as first lady, she tried to maintain her privacy, focusing on raising their son Barron and promoting the Be the Best initiative to support “children’s social, emotional and physical health.” She has otherwise stayed out of the campaign, though she attended her husband’s 2024 campaign and attended the closing night of the Republican National Convention last week. His decision not to speak at this year’s convention marked a departure from tradition for spouses of candidates, the 2016 and 2020 Republican conventions.
According to his office, the memoir will come in two versions: a $150 “Collector’s Edition,” 256 pages, “in full color, each copy signed by the author,” and a “Memoir Edition,” 304 pages, including 48 pages. pages of never-before-seen photos. The book costs $40, and signed editions cost $75.
Both editions are available for pre-order exclusively through the first lady’s website, MelaniaTrump.com. A spokesman did not immediately comment on when or if he might be ordered elsewhere.
Unlike other former presidents and first ladies, Donald and Melania Trump have not published any post-White House books through major New York publishers. Before Donald Trump’s presidency, he published numerous books, working with Random House and Simon & Schuster, but many shunned him after the US siege. The US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Since leaving Washington, he has published two books, a picture book chronicling his time in the White House and a collection of letters from world leaders and celebrities.
