WASHINGTON – President Joe Biden is facing calls from congressional Democrats to drop out of the 2024 presidential race. dIsmail debate performance last month.
Rep. Lloyd Doggett, D-Texas, July 2 was the first to call on the president to withdraw, but more have since followed, including ranking members of House committees. However, other lawmakers, including members of the Congressional Black Caucus, have defended the president.
In a July 8 letter to Democrats on Capitol Hill, Biden insisted he was staying in the racesaying “the voters have spoken”.
