WASHINGTON — Four Additional Democrats in Congress during a phone call on Sunday, the lawmaker told his colleagues that they believed in the president Joe Biden He should step aside to allow someone else to become the party’s presidential nominee, according to many callers and people familiar with the debate.
Adam Smith, the House Democrat from Washington, who said that Biden should withdraw from the 2024 race; Jerry Nadler of New York; Mark Takano of California; and with Joe Morell of New York.
The four lawmakers hold top positions on key House committees, bringing to nearly ten the number of Democrats in Congress calling for the president’s nomination to be reconsidered.
