Rep. Victoria SpartzR-Ind. was charged with weapons violation at Washington Dulles International Airport in Virginia, a spokesperson for the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority confirmed to NBC News on Monday.
The spokesman who said that the congressman was charged on Friday, a Virginia section state law related to the dangerous use of a firearm or other weapon, which makes it a crime to “keep or transport” a firearm or a number of other dangerous weapons “into an airport terminal of any air carrier.” The law classifies the violation as a crime.
NBC News has reached out to Spartz’s office for comment.
