Prosecutors from the Southern District of New York entered the photos as part of court exhibits. Although Menendez’s home is in New Jersey, the SDNY is pursuing the case because some of the alleged violations by the senator have ties to New York.
Dozens of photos show wads of bills stuffed into bags, shoes and jackets. In one of the photos, prosecutors said, a wad of bills totaling $4,300 was found on the senator’s Congressional Hispanic Caucus jacket, with his name emblazoned in yellow.
