Former president Donald Trump In an interview released Thursday, Barron misstated his youngest son’s age, saying Trump was 17 — even though he turned 18 in March.
When did the error occur? Trump reacted NBC News first reported his son’s entry into the political arena as a delegate from Florida to the Republican National Convention.
“He is quite young, I will say. He is 17 years old,” Trump said in an interview Telemundo 51 Miami. “But if they can do it, I’m all for it.”
Telemundo is the Spanish-language network of NBCUniversal, the parent company of NBC News.
When asked for comment, Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Cheung hit back at NBC News.
“NBC News has lost its mind and is clearly suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome. Instead of focusing on President Trump’s second term agenda and undoing Crooked Joe Biden’s disastrous policies, NBC has opted for tabloid journalism fit for a grocery store checkout,” Cheung said in a statement.
Trump’s youngest son, Eric Trump, will serve as a delegate along with Donald Trump Jr. and Tiffany Trump. This is one of his first public steps in politics; it has previously been overlooked by the public.
“He’s a very young guy and he’s graduating from high school this year,” the former president said, calling it “very cute” that his youngest son is a representative.
Barron Trump will graduate from high school next week. The former president has requested a stay of the criminal trial in New York so he can attend the May 17 graduation ceremony. Judge Juan Mercan, who is presiding over the hush-hush case in which Trump is accused of falsifying business records, said Trump may attend the graduation ceremony. Trump pleaded not guilty to all charges.
