The Biden administration said on Friday that it was “reasonable to assess” that Israel violated International law in Gazahowever, the country has not violated the terms of the US arms treaties.
In a report to CongressThe State Department said it has not approved specific circumstances that would justify the suspension of military aid.
“While the United States remains deeply concerned about Israel’s actions and inactions since October 7, which have significantly contributed to the failure of the sustained and predictable delivery of much-needed assistance at scale, and the overall level of outreach to Palestinian civilians remains insufficient — although improving. , we do not currently assess that the Israeli government is prohibiting or restricting the shipment or delivery of U.S. humanitarian assistance under the Foreign Assistance Act, the report said.
The State Department said its assessment was ongoing and “we will continue to monitor and respond to any calls for assistance to Palestinian civilians in Gaza.”
