President Joe Biden On Monday, he said he hoped a ceasefire would be reached in the Israel-Hamas war by next week.
“I hope we get a truce next Monday,” Biden said in response to a reporter’s question while in New York.
“My national security advisor tells me that we are close, we are close, but it is not over yet.”
The president’s comments come at a time when the Israeli army is planning land attack In Rafah, where about 1.5 million people have taken refuge. Early MondayIsraeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced that the military has proposed a plan for the evacuation of civilians.
