AT&T-owned Cricket is also dealing with outages
Cricket Wireless, a prepaid wireless service provider owned by AT&T that uses its networks, is also experiencing outages this morning.
According to Downdetector, more than 13,500 customers reported outages around 8 a.m. As of 9:30 in the morning, this number has dropped to 11,500
Cricket X responded to customer complaints: “Let me explain that there is a nationwide network incident affecting multiple services. It is Cricket’s top priority to restore the service to full capacity as quickly and safely as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused.” .
More than 70,000 AT&T customers are still experiencing outages
Outages for AT&T customers began early, with about 32,000 customers reporting outages as of 4 a.m. ET, according to the tracking site Downdetector.
By 6 a.m., that number had fallen to about 23,000, but by 8 a.m. it had risen again to 74,000.
According to the information as of 10 o’clock in the morning, the number of interruptions remains around 72 thousand.

Massachusetts State Police said the 911 center was overwhelmed with calls

The mayor of Atlanta issued a statement regarding the AT&T outage

T-Mobile said the Downdetector numbers likely reflect customers trying to connect to users on other networks.
“We did not experience an outage,” the company said in a statement. “Our network is working normally.”
Verizon says it is monitoring the situation
Verizon said the outages did not directly affect their network, but customers trying to connect to another carrier were experiencing problems.
“We continue to monitor the situation,” the company said.
AT&T recommends Wi-Fi calling until service is restored
AT&T said it was “working urgently to restore service” to customers affected by the outage this morning.
Until then, customers should use Wi-Fi calling, the company said.
